The size, location and accessibility will be a consideration in every case, with three main stages in the process.

Stage One

Every boat is an individual commission. Firstly, a close inspection of the vessel to ensure access is feasible. Hatches or panels may be easily fitted to any hard to reach area to allow lettering to be attached. At this stage, the source of 12v or 24v power source would be decided, and the location of the on/off switch for the name board agreed.

Stage Two

The second stage is the actual manufacture of the lettering itself, designed and created in conjunction with an established marine industry lighting supplier. The lettering is made from laser cut, mirror-polished, marine-grade stainless steel, affixed to an acrylic backing and threaded with fibre-optic cables.

In most cases these cables will be illuminated by LED projection, a source using next to no electric power, and with a lifespan of around 10,000 hours or more. Alternatively, depending on the scale of the project, lettering could be wholly lit by LED lighting or fibre-optic projection.

Polishing
Stage Three
The third stage would be the actual fitting of the lettering to the vessel itself and the checking of the installation and its performance. This would take place wherever is convenient to you, whether the vessel is moored in the UK or abroad.
